Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has announced plans to relocate the Dahisar Toll Plaza before Diwali in response to a long-standing demand by citizens of Mira Bhayander for an alternative route between Mira Bhayander and Mumbai. The administrative decision was made to shift the toll plaza to a new location near the Vasai Bridge in the Nursary area.

This decision was finalized during a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Minister Sarnaik stated that relocating the toll plaza will make the city’s transportation system more efficient and provide relief to the people of Mira Bhayander. Additionally, he mentioned that a toll-free travel initiative by Shiv Sena leader will also be implemented soon.

The relocation aims to address issues such as increased traffic jams, delays in travel, and pollution caused by the current toll plaza location affecting over 15 lakh people. The decision was made considering the impact on local residents.

Officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), including Regional Director Suhas Chitnis, were part of the discussions along with other local authorities like MBMC Chief Niket Kashik, Vasai Taluka Police Deputy Ashok Veerkar, and representatives from the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation.
