Two Arrested in Major Drug Bust; NDPS Act FIR Registered

Bhivandi Residents Nabbed with Drugs and Cash
The accused have been identified as Akhtar Rafiq Shaikh (31) and Jabbar Shaikh (30), both residents of Bhivandi. In addition to the narcotics, officials also confiscated a scooter and an undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be proceeds from illegal drug trade.
FIR Filed Under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act
An FIR has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway to determine the source and distribution network of the confiscated marijuana. Police officials confirmed that this was one of the largest drug seizures near Ghodbunder Road in recent months.
Law enforcement agencies have intensified surveillance in Mira-Bhayandar and surrounding regions following a rise in drug trafficking cases, with a focus on dismantling supply chains linked to intercity networks.
